Middle East Perspectives

General Buzz Moseley provided a perspective on the Middle East. He concluded his 40+ year military career in 2008 as the 18th Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, where he was the nation’s senior airman and a principal military advisor to the President of the United States.  During his career, he flew combat and commanded forces in many of the world’s hot spots.

As Commander of US Air Forces in the Middle East after 9/11, he planned and executed the air wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, including the precision strikes that helped defeat the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and the “shock and awe “campaign that kicked off Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He has maintained a close interest in and contacts in the Middle East in his post-military career.  General Moseley served at the highest military levels in positions worldwide and received more US and foreign awards than space allows us to recount, including being knighted by Her Majesty the Queen of England.

He’s a graduate of Texas A&M University and a native of Grand Prairie. In 2007, Grand Prairie honored him by naming a public school after him in his hometown:  the Mike Moseley Elementary School.  He currently serves as Chairman of Hillwood Aviation, which has offices in Texas and activities on a global scale.
